Is this the end?

Last night while I was out celebrating a friend’s birthday, a flash flood was sweeping through my suburb. I knew we were having some pretty wild weather last night but to come out this morning and see the cars in my street turned sideways and flooded was a bit of a surprise.

My car is a tiny little 20 year old thing that really needs to be replaced. The events of last night may just force my hand in doing that. Apparently the rain and volume of water we had last night was a “once in a decade” kinda thing. Oops.

Holy shit it’s cold

Well, by Sydney standards it’s freezing. There’s been a cold snap that I’m just not fond of. We start our apartment hunting this weekend and I’m hoping we find somewhere with a nice northerly facing so we get some winter sun, we’ll see. Right now it’s heater season and I’m wishing there was a big slab of man next to me in bed at night to cuddle up to.

Is the shrinkage worth it?

Winter has really hit here in Sydney. Heaters are on and clothes, unfortunately are staying on as well. What do people who love being nude do with themselves in winter? The scandinavians are renowned for hanging out with friends and family in saunas and rolling in the snow, and I like that idea, but it’s not really feasible here in Sydney. There’s just no sauna culture.

I’m curious. What do YOU do?

Withdrawal symptoms

After a wonderful four days in blissful Byron Bay a couple of weeks ago, I’ve been in long sleeve shirts and even jackets ever since. I’m not built for winter weather. It’s nice rugging up sometimes but we all know I’m a less is more kinda guy when it comes to clothing and a real boy of summer.

If I had to choose a winter environment or summer to spend the rest of my days, bring on the sun damage. I’d look like that old woman from Something about Mary quick smart, tits out and all.

I’m having withdrawal symptoms already. I can feel the vitamin D leeching from my body.

Chilly streaking in Germany!

The weather is pretty extreme at the moment. Australia hasn’t seen a heatwave like the one we are in for many years, yet London is under 20cm of snow. What’s a guy to do? Well if you are this bloke in Dusseldorf, get your gear off and run through town. I don’t have any details of who he is or what is going on but it looks like he’s streaking in some kind of winter sports competition.

Good on him I say. He’s got a great body! I think I’ll stick to the beach though.

Finally a cracking summer

Last summer here in Sydney was a bit ordinary, and that’s being polite. It was wet more than sunny and just not good for my favourite past time, nude beach laziness.

I complain in winter when it’s cold, so now that it’s scorchingly hot no words of complaint about the heat shall pass these lips. It’s hot, it’s humid and it’s sweaty, but I’m loving it. Granted, it’s not ideal for sleeping etc, but that’s what fans and air conditioning are for.

It’s the Australia Day long weekend here this weekend and we get Monday off as well. Yay. Tomorrow I’m heading to the nude beach with a couple of mates to soak up some sun and warmth and relax before heading to a mate’s birthday pool party in the afternoon evening. What a great day it’s going to be. Even if the predicted thunderstorm hits, it’s going to be one of those spectacular summer storms. Love those.

Summer is over

Sydney has just finished it’s wettest summer in years. We haven’t had a lot of beach weather and I’m sure there are a few tourists here for Mardi Gras a little annoyed. Forecasts for next summer predict a long hot dry summer next year, fingers crossed. I want to do much more nude swimming next summer than I’ve managed this one.
