Another self portrait.

Those of you that followed the self portrait challenge a couple of months ago will remember the beautiful self portrait submitted by Curtis that won the audiences votes. You can see it here.

Well Curtis admitted at the time that he doesn’t usually shoot people but I suggested he should do it more often because his photography is beautiful and his self portrait was very striking. Curtis has taken up the challenge and done another self portrait, this time he’s even gotten nude for it.

Thanks Curtis! Readers, stay tuned for another competition!

Congratulations Curtis.

Well the votes are in on the Self Portrait Challenge and you all surprised me with a fully clothed self portrait taking out the competition. Curtis’ beautiful haunting self portrait has taken out the prize with 21% (141 votes) of the 665 votes over all.

Curtis has told me he rarely photographs people, but I would say he might need to do it more often as he does it so well. As his prize, I’m sending Curtis a signed and numbered print from my exhibition, “Matteo 2″ above. Congratulations Curtis.

Self Portrait by Tim

Tim is a reader of Aussielicious who is based here in Sydney with his partner. Tim was also kind enough to buy one of the prints at my exhibition. Thanks for submitting an entry Tim!

Don’t forget, you only have until the end of this month to get your entries in for the Self Portrait Challenge. Email them to brenton.parry@gmail.com

Self portraits!!

Once more I bring you the readers who have submitted some self portrait shots. Some of you have sent me more than one image but I’m selecting the best and posting those for the competition.

Today, from left to right we have Andreas, David, Lex and Kent and once again we have quite a diverse range of self portraits. Keep them coming in guys. I’m working on a prize for the winner.

Self Portrait Challenge!

And still the entries come! Tonight I’m sharing two more self portrait challenge entries with you all. On the left is Erik, AKA The Nude Canadian Boy who also submitted an entry to a Winter Nudity Challenge I had some years ago.

On the right is a beautiful photo by Curtis. I don’t know much about Curtis other than he reads the blog and is an enthusiastic photographer.

Self Portrait challengers!

Here we are with more entrants in the Self Portrait challenge. First up on the left is the lovely Damien from 2 Cents Worth. Damien is a total sweetheart and a dirty bear when he wants to be, judging from the stories he tells me.

On the right is Mickey from China who also contributed to the previous incarnation of the self portrait challenge. Wherever that shot is it looks deliciously warm and sunny there.

Self Portrait – The first entries are in!

I’ve already got four entries in the self portrait challenge. Two are from long time friends of the blog and contributors to other challenges but we also have two new contributors.

From left to right, in order of submission we have blog buddy, nudie and all round nice guy Matthew from NYCdancer. Then we have our hottie straight boy Hiram who has featured on these pages several times including in the aussieBum fitness challenge last year. Next up is Azza from the other side of Australia over in Perth. He took this shot of himself in Bali on holiday. From what I know of Azza it certainly captures him. He’s happiest when he’s nude in the sunshine. Lastly on the right we have Darin who tells me he is going to be at Burning Man too.

Thanks to the guys for entering the competition. Keep the entries coming guys and remember, they don’t have to be nudes. These guys are just comfortable getting their junk out.

I challenge you!

Hiram’s self portrait recently got me thinking about self portraits again. I’ll be dabbling in taking a couple when I’m at Burning Man and I’m throwing it out there to readers to submit a self portrait shot.

Self portraits have been around for as long as people have been drawing and painting and taking photographs. A lot of people think it’s narcissistic and I guess at times it could be but it’s just as much about trying to capture on the outside, what you feel on the inside. Also, sometimes you are the only model you can afford.

I will work on a prize that will be given to the winner as voted by the readers of Aussielicious. Entries close on Friday 30th September. The entries do NOT have to be nude. Take a self portrait that really embodies you and enter it. So you have 6 weeks to get creative! GO!

Welcome back Hiram

Hiram is one of our favourite straight boys here on Aussielicious. He’s contributed to the Self Portrait challenge a while back and last year took part in the AussieBum fitness challenge. Yesterday he emailed me with an update on what he’s been up to, including getting married and going to Hawaii with his lovely bride for their honeymoon. Congratulations Hiram.

Hiram also sent in this new self portrait. It’s lovely isn’t it? This blog is always open to contributions like this from readers but keep it nice boys. No hard ons, no sex, just great photos!

Mickey from China’s self portrait

Mickey here lives in China and isn’t out. He was reading my blog and found the readers’ self portrait challenge I posted some time back and decided to share this lovely photo of his very perky bum with us. Thanks Mickey!

What drives them?

The internet in recent years has seen an explosion in people putting their lives out there in blogs, sharing every detail of their life on twitter and facebook and for some this leads to a lot of success and others it satisfies an exhibitionist streak or a craving for approval.

Peter from Narcissus Gazed, Matthew from NYCDancer and Craig from High Contrast Cock all have blogs devoted entirely  to self portraits, some quite graphic especially in Craig’s case. There is also Lars Stephan who is gaining quite a following for his photography and starting out used himself as his muse.

Matthew says he’s motivated by an exhibitionist streak, a love of photography and a curiosity for self portraits. Peter is exploring art and gender and beauty in his work and I think Craig just loves showing off and playing with his cock! Lars did an interview on Aussielicious some years ago now and found that while he wanted to explore nude photography he was the most affordable and willing model around.

Self Portrait – Mike

Another reader has been kind enough to share his self portrait shots with us. this is Mike. He hasn’t said where he is from but it doesn’t matter. Thanks Mike!

Self Portrait – Hiram

Today we have another self portrait submission from Hiram, who lives in California. Hiram is a straight reader of the blog who has been reading for a few years and actually submitted more um… enthusiastic shots for my old blog pornolicious but they aren’t getting a re-run here.

It’s nice to see that there are some people out there who are accepting and tolerant of different sexuality and not threatened by it. Thank you for sharing Hiram!

Self Portrait – Eddie

I thought the self portrait challenge might have died a fast and early death until this afternoon when I got these photos from Eddie in San Francisco. Eddie grew up in France before living in LA and now San Fran. Eddie obviously sees himself enjoying sunshine on a beach with his inhibitions left somewhere else for a while.

If you are toying with the idea of a self portrait, do it. You don’t even have to be recognisable, it doesn’t have to be photographic, or nude, just a self portrait. I’m thinking of ideas for myself. I haven’t done any self portrait shots in a while.
