This weekend just passed I took off to the NSW Southern Highlands a couple of hours out of Sydney to River Island Retreat, a clothing optional retreat where along with a mate, we were the only people camping. Saturday afternoon was a bit brisk with wind blowing up the river but I still managed to go for a walk of a couple of km naked. Saturday night was freezing cold but Sunday was bright and sunny so more wandering and exploring nude was done in the sunshine after seeing a cute little platypus swimming up the river after a night’s foraging for food.
On Sunday I jumped under the camp shower that my friend has (he has everything ever invented for camping) and freshened up and my friend took the shots above of me doing so. Now I’ve tried to explain that I’m as out of shape as I’ve ever been and I’ve realised what it is. No I’m not obese or fat but I’m the heaviest I’ve ever been and not for the right reasons. Over the last few months I’ve eaten badly and not trained anywhere near enough and the reason I feel so horrid is that I’ve realised that I don’t feel as in tune with my body as I usually do.
I’ve always been a sporty and active person, swimming every day as a kid, gymnastics, tennis, surfing and rowing. Everyone told me when I hit 30 I was going to get fat with the amount of food I eat and how undisciplined I am with what I eat. Stupidly I kinda figured when the deadline for my metabolism abandoning me passed without trouble I might have gotten away with it. Sadly that now doesn’t seem to be the case. Approaching my 37th birthday (October 7th) it looks like I finally need to start paying more attention to my wellbeing. Hence my current fitness challenge and having chicken and veggies for dinner tonight.
On the site I have been using to network with models and photographers, model mayhem, one of the things that models can specify on their profile is whether or not they do nudes. Most profiles say no. I was seeing this and getting confused because they had nudes in their portfolios but I then worked out that there is a distinction between implied nudes and nudes. Implied means that you can be technically nude but not showing your junk and full frontal is the “nudes” that people are saying yes or no to. Or so I thought.
Every now and then you’ll come across a photo of someone and it may not be on their profile but on a photographer’s profile, but sometimes it’s on their own profile, and their they are in all their glory, their tackle waving at you but their profile says no to nudes. So does no really mean no?

I’ve admitted it many times in the past. I’m a big voyeur. I used to watch Big Brother here, before the contestants all turned in to fame hungry trash and before they started wearing clothes in the shower, pretty much to perve on all the guys.
This guy is in British Big Brother and has the most ridiculous body. It’s stunning. What I find very amusing about this video is that the rest of the house seems to gather for no reason in the bathroom while he’s naked and showering, barely concealing their staring. Not that I blame them at all of course, and I really don’t think he minds the attention somehow. Now, why is there no frontal video?
Update: Thanks to NakedTom I’ve now been informed that this guy was not a contestant but rather part of a challenge in the house for the contestants to totally ignore anything out of the ordinary in the house. I seriously don’t know that I’d be able to ignore that guy, especially if he came and sat down nude right next to me. SO hot.

I’ve just got back from visiting a few friends who are off overseas for a few weeks to compete at the Gay Games with the Stingers, the local gay water polo team. On the way over there I had an idea for something I thought could make a good blog post. Now, after an hour of talking about the trip, the current relationship woes of one of them and a bunch of other things, that post has gone completely out of my mind.
So. What do I do? Who knows, it will come back to me at some point. Working with Miguel, the model yesterday was an interesting experience. He’s a really nice guy and knew ahead of time that I was working towards shots for my exhibition which would involve nudity. I don’t want full frontal shots even though I have shot some in the past, it’s not generally my thing.
He brought up the fact that from my profile on model mayhem he knew I’d had some of my photography on the DNA blog and thought it would be great if I could get some in the actual magazine. So I know he was comfortable with me being gay.
The interesting part is that he wanted to do nudes for the exhibition and was really keen to be a part of the exhibition but the whole time we were shooting he had a hand firmly clamped over his cock. He’s clearly just not used to being seen nude outside the bedroom. He’s also in Australia to train for boxing. Now, my knowledge of real boxing gyms, not Fitness First boxing classes, is limited but from reliable stories I understand that most of them are pretty old school and have communal showers. How does someone who isn’t that comfortable with being seen nude deal with the post training shower situation?
For me, rowing surf boats and the post training shower was when I got over my prudishness as it just wasn’t practical to avoid it and showering in my speedos would have caused more teasing than not.
Whatever his reasons, Miguel was fantastic to shoot and very eager to please. He’s also very keen to shoot again. I just wish I could share some of the images.
Ronnie gained some fame in the U.S. version of Make me a Supermodel and having a very public Bromance with one of the straight contestants. Ronnie is openly gay (and very hot with it) so I find it a little weird that they’ve posed him in one shot with a nude woman. Is that to make him more attainable to the straight women that allegedly buy Playgirl? Who knows… He looks good to me, but I barely registered there was a woman there.
When Dylan Rosser shoots people, he certainly goes for the hotties. They can be twinky, buff or downright horny looking guys like porn star Adam Killian. I think it was Adam that I chatted to online several years ago before the full sleeve tattoo and the porn but not before he was hot! According to Dylan, Adam was running around the pool doing handstands and the splits and having fun, all naked.

Capoeira is a form of exercise that I would love to have a go at one day. A brazilian form of martial arts and dance combined, it’s graceful, dynamic, cool and it looks like a bunch of fun. Some of the guys you see walking around who do it have amazing bodies so there are benefits to it clearly.

Tonight I went to the opening of the Ludites Love Water exhibition at the Blender Gallery in Paddington. A few months ago I shaved my head and met my friend Steven who has photographed me before. We headed to Gordon’s Bay and I launched myself repeatedly from under the water for Steve to get his shot.
There are other people in Steven’s series and several other photographers exhibiting as well. It’s amazing the results that people can come up with when they use a plastic camera. Thanks for letting me be a part of it Steve!
