When the lovely folks over at Dieux Du Stade decided to get American photographer Tony Duran to shoot the tenth anniversary edition of their French Rugby calendar it was a very smart decision. The whole reputation of the calendar sits beautifully with Tony’s sexy, slick and stylish vision of the world.
Just like they did with the 2004 Francois Rousseau shots, they’ve now released a book choc full of the meaty goodness that is the Stade Francais rugby players and their guests photographed by Tony to look their best. Ooh lala.
In what I see becoming a regular item here on Aussielicious I bring you the Aussielicious Covet List for the 1st of June 2010. The covet list is, rather obviously, things I’m coveting or that I think are really covetable. Some of them will be luxury items, some cheap but cool and some total pie in the sky things and everything in between.
Tonight I’m coveting three different photography books, a DVD and a shirt.
The first book is Zebrato by Michael Levin, whose stunning photographic landscapes I brought you recently. A whole book of cool, stunning moody landscapes would keep me entertained for hours.
Bruce Weber has been making a muse of Roberto Bolle, classic Ballet dancer and all-round hottie. Everything Bruce points his camera at is absolutely stunning so this book will be a welcome addition to my collection one day.
Tony Duran has shot one of the best Dieux Du Stade calendars for a few years and once again they’ve released it as a book. Pages and pages of naked oiled up rugby players and sports men having water flung at them and jumping around on rooftops. Yes please.
The DVD I’m coveting isn’t actually out (on Amazon anyway) til the 6th July, but the movie was just so exquisitely beautiful and shot in decadent style that I could watch it over and over again. It’s a teaming of great actors and a first time director in Tom Ford that makes for a beautiful movie.
Finally on my covet list tonight is a fitted, tuxedo style shirt from Premonition. It comes in at least two colours and looks hot on this model!
A couple of days ago my copy of the Dieux Du Stade DVD arrived and I have to say it’s HOT. There’s more full frontal this year than the last couple but the more important to me, the shoots, locations, styling and way it all happens is really fascinating to watch. Maybe it’s because I’ve got a lot of photography coming up but watching Tony Duran work is great.
Tony certainly isn’t shy about physically manouvering the models into position and even throwing buckets of water over them. Come to think of it, if you are going to be photographed by Tony Duran, you could almost bet money that he, or the cute assistant guy, are going to throw a bucket of water over you at some point!
We like brothers. We really like hot brothers. We really really like hot naked brothers. I promised I’d track down the video that youtube took down from the Dieux Du Stade DVD and I have. This is Thom and Max Evans. Brothers from the UK. Now, I can’t quite keep track if they’ve both gone full frontal in this video because they do look very similar, but I’m working on the assumption that one of them has a nice package of stuff going on, then so must the other one. Wouldn’t it be brutal if one brother had a massive cock and the other got robbed completely? No complaints here!
A few days ago I posted some of the images from the 10th Anniversary Dieux Du Stade calendar. On Thursday morning I found a behind the scenes video of Tom and Max Evans, two British brothers who are in the photo together to the left. Yes there is full frontal, yes they look hot, but I will say they looked hotter before the extensive airbrushing. No one should aspire to have the complexion of Nicole Kidman so don’t airbrush it in!
These brothers are very comfortable in front of the camera and they have incredible bodies. Tony Duran has done a stunning job with this calendar from what I’ve seen so far. So where’s the video you ask? Well youtube, in their infinite prudishness have taken it down because of the penis factor. I’ll see what I can track down for you!
This year is going so fast it’s ridiculous. Here we are in late September, enjoying beautiful weather here in Sydney when it gets even better. How could it not get better when more than a dozen hot naked men from the Dieux Du Stade 10th Anniversary calendar for 2010 turn up on your screen? I can even happily inform you that in the shots posted here we even have two full frontal shots. I’ve never owned the calendar before but I just might have to invest this year!
The publicity trail is a long and winding one, especially for Dieux Du Stade where we are teased for months and months, first with reports of who is shooting the calendar, then the cover is releasesd followed weeks later by behind the scenes shots, and finally, a teaser trailer for the behind the scenes DVD. This year’s is the 10th Anniversary edition and shot by photographer to the sexy stars Tony Duran. I for one have never owned a copy of the calendar, but have the last 6 “Making Of” DVD’s and can’t wait to see this one.
If you are patient, these things do come to you. Finally we have some of the shots scanned from the actual Dieux Du Stade Calendar for 2009. Some of my favourites are back, along with some hot newcomers. The photography is nice and simple but still beautiful, it’s about football again and not mansions, mirrors and unrelated settings. I’m going to have to see if the DVD is out yet this afternoon.
While I don’t buy the Dieux Du Stade calendar I do have the last 5 “Making of” DVD’s and can’t wait for the new one. I see that a few of my favourites are back including the gorgeous Julian Arias and Nicholas Jean-Jean. So delicious. Enjoy these shots which I suspect are captures from the DVD.
WE finally have some stuff circulating from the 2009 Dieux Du Stade calendar. Check out this video from behind the scenes, especially around the 1:52 mark where, for fans of twins, there are nude twins, hugging! The 2009 Calendar is shot by Peter Lindbergh and they’ve gone back to simple setups in a return to the kind of imagery that made the 2004 version so famous. Love it.
Today is a blazing sunshine sunday here in Sydney. It’s still cool but not freezing. Shortly I’m heading to the pub for a farewell lunch for a friend who’s going back to Canada for a few months while he tries to sort out a visa to come back longer term.
So, being a lazy kinda day, I thought I’d post this video from the 2007 Dieux Du Stade calendar shoot. This guy is a very smouldery pouty sexy with a very hot bod. Not sure I’m convinced on the totally shaved thing, I know it doesn’t work on me, but he’s still hot. It can’t be long now before we start seeing images from the 2009 Calendar.
