The men of Aphrodite for DNA

Kylie’s Aphrodite Les Folies tour was one of the most lavish she’s ever done and the male dancers and aerialists were some of the hottest she’s had on a tour, and that’s saying something. Well, they’ve appeared in their skimpies in DNA Magazine now and finally we have a behind the scenes video to share. Yummo.

Let’s get wet

If you ever want motivation to completely overhaul your diet and exercise regime, your beauty regime and your swimwear collection, then I strongly suggest you get yourself along to a DNA Pool Party early. I arrived at the Ivy Pool bar on Saturday afternoon, not long after the party opened as I only had a few hours before I had to head off, which meant it was myself, a couple of other early arrivals, some DNA staff and the models. Lots of models.

Like most parties, people congregated with people they identified with. What did that mean to me on Saturday? It meant I was sitting near the bar within easy viewing distance of an extremely intimidating cluster of hot.

Shortly after the crowds started pouring in, in direct proportion to the speed the clouds disappeared and the beautiful blazing sun came out to make the water sparkle, the teeth shine and the oiled up tanned flesh of the models glisten. There was a fashion parade of tiny swimwear hosted by the gorgeous and lovely Will Fennell, assisted by Brodie. The music was perfect, the crowd was all mingling and laughing and the sun was blazing. When I left, it was all good and by all reports, it stayed exactly like that.

DNA Pool Party Ticket GIVEAWAY!

UPDATE: Congratulations to Kane and Jonathon, our two winners who were first in with the correct answer: Pedro Virgil.

I have TWO double passes to giveaway to the DNA Pool Party on Saturday 26th November. Obviously, once again you need to be in Sydney on the date, transport is not included in this prize. Held at the Ivy Pool Bar, the DNA Pool Party is now a popular fixture on the Sydney’s gay summer calendar.

You are guaranteed to see plenty of beautiful men enjoying the sunshine while some great DJ’s supply some fantastic music to keep the atmosphere lively. How do you win these double passes? I will take the first TWO correct answers, emailed to me at brenton.parry@gmail.com to the following question.

At the DNA Pool Party in October 2009, who was the Sydney photographer shooting the models for the Swimwear edition of DNA?

Nice to know

When I watched this video that hit the net today from DNA Magazine, the thing that struck me was that despite being good looking, having a killer body that he’s worked SO hard on, the model, DNA’s fitness writer Andrew Greig was still self conscious on the shoot.

Every time he’s taking off underwear or swimwear a hand firmly covers his bits and pieces before any clothing comes off. Maybe it was because he works with some of the people on the shoot or maybe we are just all prone to self consciousness. Andrew, you look pretty good to us.

DNA Pool Party 2!

A few weeks ago I went to the Pool Party at the IVY Hotel hosted by Haute Vacance and DNA with a photo shoot by Pedro Virgil going on for us all to play voyeur. Well, it was a great success. What do you do when you have a successful event? You have a sequel! I’ll be going again. It was actually a really nice chilled event.

Head to the DNA store online and get your tickets.

If you put it out there, it might just happen. I hinted the other day that some exciting things were in the pipeline. They are only small steps, but they are getting there. The Online Content Manager at DNA Magazine contacted me the other day on modelmayhem asking me to submit some photos for their blog. Lo and behold some of my shots of Kieran are up today on the DNA Blog. How exciting. They are also featuring my shots of James the bodybuilder over the weekend!

Holy Mr Best Ass!!!

My new DNA magazine just popped into my letterbox this afternoon. I was flicking through when a bubble hit me in the face. A bubble butt that is. The perfectly smooth round bubble butt belongs to Antonio Pedro Amlijez, who won Mr Gay Spain and then went to win the Mr Gay Europe competition. It’s one of the most insanely perky butts that I’ve ever seen. He’s a gorgeous guy with a beautiful body. I can’t delve further into his interests, abilities or passions, well, because I got distracted and felt compelled to post first. I promise I will read it.

DNA 106 is smouldering

Aussie Rugby League player is smoking up the cover of the new DNA magazine. Nick is going to be in the charity calendar Gods of Football for the third year in a row and if the shoot in DNA is anything to go by he’s gonna look just fine. Nick caused a bit of a stir among the powers that be in the 2006 calendar because you could see a tiny bit of his cock… quite frankly I was upset too, surely there was lots more to be seen that was covered up! The Outrage!! The shots in DNA are by Pedro Virgil. The two guys on the right are also featured in the pages of this issue, along with a whole bunch of other great stuff. Delicious.

Update: for those of you wanting to see the photo that cause the drama, click here.

Vote for Brodie!

This is Brodie, one of the Sydney entrants in DNA’s search for a cover model competition. He’s originally from Hobart and is a really nice guy. He’s hoping for some votes in the competition and clearly has what it takes to be on the cover of the magazine. Apparently it takes some serious discipline to maintain that kinda zero body fat image… maybe that’s what I’m doing wrong?

So, click on the image for a closer look at Brodie and then head on over and vote for him!

Matt’s golden DNA

DNA’s issue #105 hit the stands with Matthew Mitcham on the cover. It’s a nice simple cover too, and he has such a lean toned body, how could he look bad

Your favourite is Marco!

Nearly an hour ago Marco Dapper officially became the favourite DNA Coverboy of Aussielicious readers in the second Aussielicious Awards. Out of the 755 votes over the past week, Marco took 32% of them leading clearly from the outset.

Personally, Marco is a guy that is to be admired. Prior to his famous frontal nude scene in Eating Out 2: Sloppy Seconds, he freely admits he was a homophobe and had homophobic friends. Then as he pursued acting he decided to challenge his beliefs with the role of the bi-curious lust object of pretty much the rest of the cast. He lost friends over the role because they couldn’t understand how he could do it. You have to admire someone who challenges their perceptions of life so enthusiastically.

Marco was photographed for DNA’s issue number 86 by the Aussie-living-in-LA Lewis Payton who captured his stunning body beautifully, although with someone as hot and spectacularly put together as Marco, that wouldn’t be hard. Congratulations Marco on becoming the second Aussielicious Awards winner.

Have you voted?

Just a half way point reminder to you all to go here and vote for your favourite DNA Coverboy if you haven’t already. All five of them are spectacular examples of men and blinding evidence of discipline and good genetics. They are also just good old fashioned eye candy.

Don’t forget to nominate

You’ve all got about 30 hours left to nominate your favourite DNA Model. Then tomorrow afternoon Sydney time the voting will commence to see who will take out the Aussielicious Award for the title of favourite DNA Coverboy. There’s been some strong contenders already and I have to say I’m approving whole heartedly. But then DNA usually does a great job so it’s making your jobs tough. Go through your collection of old editions and see if anyone you had forgotten about deserves a shot at the title

Aussielicious Awards – Favourite DNA boy?

It’s time for the second round of the Aussielicious Awards, so until Sunday afternoon, Sydney time, I’m taking nominations for your favourite DNA coverboy. There’s been 104 issues now over the past 8 years and there’s been a wide range of guys on the cover to suit all tastes, from the twinkier guys to the buff as all hell.

I think my favourite was Rusty Joiner from issue #71. If I died in his arms, it would be with a smile. So get nominating. The top 5 guys with the most votes will then be put up for a week of stiff (oh my the images in my head) competition to take out the second Aussielicious Award.
