By all reports, this year’s Mardi Gras was a huge success with people saying that it was one of the best parties in years. The parade may have been a bit wet with all the rain that Sydney has had over the summer and especially the last week or so, but clearly the energy was there. Having Kylie appear in the parade and perform at the party definitely lent a special vibe and level of excitement to proceedings. This is a video put together by Dan Murphy and the RockYourBox team!

Now that I’ve started back at the new term of aerial silks classes as of last night, it’s time to start (finally) putting my new routine together. It’s been a long time in the planning this routine. The very talented Dan Murphy put together a custom mash-up for me to do the routine to. In the past I’ve noticed I perform better when I have a stronger costume and character to hide behind than if it’s essentially just me up there. It also helps to rehearse a bit.
So to go with the mashup of Freeek by George Michael and Erotica by Madonna, I’m putting together a bit of a fetish costume. Now I’m not usually into rubber, leather or “gear” fetish stuff, but through Sue over at Fairview I came across Slick It Up. So far I’ve got myself the Tactical Guard top which instantly does make you feel sexy. To go with it I think I’ll be getting myself some of the Sports Tights complete with the mesh arse in them.
Francois Sagat has used custom designed Slick It Up gear in his new porn directorial debut “Incubus” and it looks hot. The guy that runs Slick It Up is also uber hot and models some of the gear himself on their site. If you are into rubber/leather/mesh gear, go and have a look.
Next Sunday evening sees the second birthday of “I Remember House” at the Ivy here in Sydney. In honour of their birthday I have a double pass to giveaway to a lucky reader. Obviously you need to be in Sydney next Sunday 23rd October 2011, as the prize is entry only. Anyone who reads the blog can enter, but you need to be in Sydney for the event.

Last Sunday over 200 of us got together to film a video for equality organised by Australian Marriage Equality and directed by DJ Dan Murphy. Please share the video with everyone you know. We need to drive the message home. There is a National Labor Conference in December and we are having a Rally for Equality to coincide with it in early December.
This Saturday night DJ Dan Murphy and Sean from Rockyourbox are putting on a party called Pop Attack at Sydney’s TANK Bar immediately after the screening of Kylie’s Aphrodite Les Folies Tour in 3D. All the details for the event are one click away (or search for Pop Attack in your facebook events). It should be a great party filled with pure pop. I have the word from Mr Murphy that it’s radio edits all the way, no ten minute remixes, just good pop fun.
FINALLY the new verions of Magic by Olivia Newton-John created by Peachy & Murphy has been released world wide! Olivia has performed it at Gay Pride and apparently the crowd loved it! Congratulations to the team. If you want to buy it, click here.

What happens when you throw together a classic song from an icon of the music industry with one of the gay scene in Australia’s best DJ’s? You get a song that is going to be number one!
Olivia Newtown John has been a household name around the world since Grease. I remember seeing Grease at the Drive-In Cinema with my family as a double feature with Xanadu. Olivia is a bit older now but she still looks great and has a lot of great projects on the boil. She runs a charity called the “Olivia Newton John Cancer Wellness Centre” and DJ Dan Murphy along with the Australian Creative Collective has reworked and revitalised “Magic” from the Xanadu soundtrack and it’s fantastic.
The song is going to be launched on Sunday night Australia time on our version of Dancing With the Stars and will be available on iTunes immediately after. Sydney based DJ, Dan Murphy has decided that one Zoe Badwi song isn’t enough so he’s taken two of her songs and given them the “Rockyourbox” Mashup treatment. It’s a great mashup and Zoe always seems to release cool tracks, so a tw0-for-one bargain is always a good deal!
