I’ve wanted to go sky diving for a long time and it is on my bucket list to be achieved, hopefully long before there is an urgency to tick the list off. I found this video this afternoon and was just captivated. These guys obviously have a lot of experience in sky diving and they are a LONG way up. When I do it I’ll be strapped to someone’s chest and hopefully they’ll be hot and more importantly have a very good idea of what they are doing. I certainly won’t be so high up that I can see around the curve of the earth.

For many years, I’ve loved the idea of getting a small group of friends together, hiring a sail boat and sailing around the Whitsunday Islands in Queensland, exploring hidden coves, deserted islands, skinny dipping, sunbathing with a cold beer in hand and having a fire on a deserted beach.
It’s one of those holidays that would have to be with the right group of friends. Locking yourself on a boat for a week or more with people takes some picking and choosing, but could be one of those amazing holidays you never forget.
Burning Man, despite having just been, is still on my bucket list. I think for me, I need to go back to get the most out of it. As I’ve said, it took me a few days to “get it” this year and I think if I went back I’d settle in really quickly. I’d take some good friends that would appreciate it, I’d take my boyfriend and I’d have even more of a great time.
It’s also on my list still because I still didn’t lose all my uptight inhibitions and give in to the freedom and I also never got to run along behind the water truck and have a shower. That has to happen.
I was going to work on a big post about my bucket list but every time I’d start I’d get distracted. So I’m going to do bucket list items as I think of them. One that I’ve talked about for a while on this blog but still haven’t managed is to get back on a surfboard and ride the waves nude. I haven’t surfed properly since I was a teenager but I’ve been on boards etc when I was in the surf lifesaving club and I’m pretty sure I will be able to stand up and ride a wave or two.
This video is 20 years old and not the best quality but Sonny Miller is one of the famous names in surf films and Brad Gerlach was a big name in surfing when this was filmed. It was filmed at Hossegor, a nude beach in France so Brad and Rod Kerr stripped off and did their great surfing thing on the waves in their birthday suits. I’ll do it soon.
Recently I started writing my bucket list. I’m not in any imminent danger of dying but thought I’d get started on the list and possibly see what can be crossed off easily. I saved the list as a draft here in wordpress but it’s disappeared so I’m going to have to write it again.
Needless to say, looking at the images above it’s pretty easy to guess that skydiving is on the list (possibly nude) and going to burning man has been a definite on that (so far imaginary) list for some time. I’ll get back to you when it’s all written!
