In a very flattering move by the man that started the online magazine, I have been asked to be the guest editor of the fifth edition of QAMA.

If you’ve been coming here to this blog for a while you would know that I’ve contributed to three of the four issues so far released. My series (Don’t) Look was my first real attempt at erotic art photography, then in issue 3 I submitted CybEROTICA and most recently RED. As guest editor it is my job to chase up artists in both visual mediums and written word who might want to contribute to the magazine.

The theme I have chosen is Cliché. By definition a Cliché is “a phrase or opinion that is overused and betrays a lack of original thought.” I want artists to ask what happens when you subvert that cliché? Can you pay homage to a stereotype while cutting it in half? Clichés evolve for a reason. They are an easy way to explain a pattern of behaviour or a lack of originality. People use them to comfort others or use them as an insult to deride others.

If you are an artist or you know some artists, please send them my way. I would love to have a wildly diverse range of art in this issue!
