Today I was watching a youtube tutorial on photography and as one does in youtube land, I followed link after link. After a while I was watching a video by a photographer talking about 8 things to know when you are ready to make money from photography. One thing he said was to just have confidence. Now confidence has been my achilles heel for some time now but listening to that I realised that my photography has got to the point where I am confident. There is a tonne of stuff that I don’t know but I realised I do know what I’m doing and I’m confident about the kind of photography that I do.

Thinking about it I realised that when I was asked to do the shoot for #barenakedtruth which starts this weekend, I was perfectly confident that I could do 100 nude portraits of all sorts of different people, body shapes, ages and sizes and do a good job. It was quite the realisation for me and I’m very glad to have had it.

It’s going to be a great challenge to maintain energy, focus and enthusiasm while supporting all these novice models through their first nude shoot but I am pretty darned sure I can do it.
