Nearly four years ago I photographed an aspiring model called Zoren. It was his first real shoot and he was a little nervous in front of the camera but he looked amazing. In the four years since we shot Zoren has spent a lot of time overseas working in a very tough industry and you may recognise him but by a different name. In the last few years Zoren has battled some demons, both personal and other and come out the other side a really self-aware and happy guy.

He’s really turning his life around and there was a twinkle in his eye and a cheeky smile pulling at his mouth when he talked which was fantastic to see. We don’t know each other very well but he was a lot of fun to shoot. By his own admission he’s made some enemies over the past few years but he’s a very different person now and I’d be willing to bet that a lot of those old enemies would be friends now if they gave him another chance.

As you can see, whatever demons he’s been battling certainly haven’t dulled his looks. He’s hit the gym a lot in the time since our first shoot and bulked up. He looks incredible and is now very much more comfortable in front of a camera. We will definitely be shooting again. He wants to get painted up for one of my tribal themed shoots. Who am I to say no?
