It’s a practice run

Today Sydney has just equalled it’s highest recorded temperature in 75 years with 45.3 celsius (113.5 F) and will probably break it before an expected cool change comes through later this evening. I figure it’s just all good practice for when I go back to Burning Man later this year where temperatures are routinely 40-45 every day. Of course the heat there is much more dry and comfortable than the sticky humid heat we get here. Either way, I love it. I’m in an air conditioned office at the moment and the last two summers I’ve bitched about it being cold and not beach weather so I’m sure as hell not going to complain about the heat.

Well I hope you’re enjoying it – because the people who have lost their homes certainly are not enjoying this record breaking heat.

We had 7 years of drought and severe water restrictions, and then just two or three wet summers, and so many like yourself just whinged.

Now that it’s back, enjoy it — it’s only going to get worse in the future – I just hope your home on the beach is safe from the flames.

Show some respect, mate! Life is more than nudity and beaches – Germany has had naturism for decades without needing 40 degree heat – we do not need it here in Sydney again.

Did you fall and hit your head?

How on EARTH do you read your rant from Brentons’ post?

I tried to connect the dots and came up with “there but for the grace of God go *I*” club.

I can’t even call it an overreaction because your silly little rant had NOTHING to do with Brentons’ post or its meaning.

Please…… Get a hobby. This blog stuff is clearly beyond you.

DamienOz, maybe connecting Dots would be a good hobby for Jonas to start with! but i think he is coming from a caring place for the suffering caused by our bushfires!

I was working from home, and without air-con when the temp hit 43C at my place in Wollongong. I wasn’t too happy seeing the plants in my garden, wilting and burning. But I’m like you… not going to complain about heat in Summer, I as too was one of those people complaining about the cold crappy summers for the previous 2 years.

No one wants to see droughts and bush fires, and the associated suffering they cause. But we’re not hurting anyone by enjoying summer!
