Apparently there is an old tradition of picking your grapes to make your wine, under a full moon, nude. So says Mike Hayes of Queensland anyway. I actually have vague recollections of seeing something on tv that may well have been an April Fool’s joke about the dangers of a job of being the man who squashes the grapes in a giant vat, but he was nude and if he slipped and fell right in he could drown under the weight of the grapes.

Apparently Georgia is the birth of wine making, Russia not the U.S. and the thought behind this first recorded nude harvest was that the moon drew goodness from the soil and energy from the grapes that would then be part of the wine. I wonder if Mike is going to release a video of the harvest?
