A beautiful story

On Saturday night I got around to watching “Weekend”. It’s one of those movies that I’d heard people raving about as a must see gay movie. Personally I absolutely loved it. It’s not a fast movie, nothing explodes and it’s honest and real. Two guys explore a romance that develops out of a one-night stand. It was interesting to see a “gay” movie that explored the real world of being gay and someone feeling uncomfortable with public displays of affection and whether it was allowed etc.

The two leads were adorable and sexy and entirely relatable in they way that they were exactly like people I see out and about, not plucked gorgeous muscle boys. Why can’t there be more gay cinema like this instead of rubbish movies like “Four Letter Word”, “Eating Out” etc.

So glad you posted this. My partner and I stumbled on this movie on Netflix one night… and loved it. It is one of the few “gay movies” that we really like and we loved the story. But… it made me cry. :-)

Have a chance watch the movie, Undertow, released in 2009. Worth watching too.

Seen this film a few times now. Enjoy it more every time. Complex weekend relationship. First time date and how we break down those barriers to connect with each other, if you do.
