I’ll keep this brief because it’s hurting to type. Last week’s surgery went really smoothly. Text book perfect the surgeon said. I wasn’t entirely sure on what I’d done to myself but the surgeon informs me that the tendon had indeed detatched from the bone at the elbow but it has all been repaired and eventually I’ll be as good as new. I’m still a bit disappointed that they didn’t put bionic arms on. Oh well.
From the surgeon’s research, he can only find 4 other documented cases of someone having this injury in both arms at the same time. Why do I over achieve in stupid areas like this?
The plaster came off a couple of days ago and sleeping without the plaster has proven to in fact, be a lot more painful than with it. It’s amazing how readily you do things that now, while recovering, hurt your arms. In good news, I have been able to do all the things I was worried about having my mother do, for myself. The awkward toilet incidents have not had to happen.
I’ll post again when I can, or more likely in about 5 or 6 days when I’m hoping to be back at home looking after myself.

Great to hear the update B – take care.
Good news! Relax and take care to heal.
YAY!!! Glad to hear all is well and you are on the road to recovery :)

Feel better! I miss your posts.
Dear Brenton,
I have been reading your blog for the last two years, and am following the events of your life.
I’m quite happy for you that your accident has been happily resolved by surgery, and that fortunately the situation in not too much painful.
I wish you to recover quickly.
I’m French, gay, 65yo, retired, leaving in Spain (Canary islands, and a former United Nations international civil servant.
I like the way you explain and expose to us your way of life.
Please, recover and continue.
With my best,
Nathan
I’m pulling for you bud and wishing you a speedy recovery. I just had my Tonsils out a week ago this past Friday (I’m 35 years old), about 2 weeks after my birthday. It totally sucks. I can sympathize with you completely. My recovery is going to be a lot quicker than with bicep tendon repairs though. Keep you chin up, you’ll be back to normal before you know it!
Custom is to send flowers to those who have been hospitalized, but i think that for Brenton a more appropriate gesture would be to send him the pop up KYLIE book, which The Bookshop in Sydney has a very limited supply of. Any luverly Aussielicious reader cashed up willing to donate coin for this ????? my email is omyulo@gmail.com, i am happy to help and facilitate this.
Brenton,
Glad to hear the surgery went well, get well soon.
Great news, Brenton! Best wishes for a speedy and complete recovery!
Stephen
Dear Brenton,
Still take good care of yourself. Know yourself brotherly hugged mate.
Thanks for the update Brenton, sounds like the recovery is progressing well. Don’t worry about your mum, she more than anyone else has seen your dangley bits :-)
Hi Brenton, I’ve been reading your blog for at least two years now. Finally felt it was time to give a shout out from my home in NYC. Congrats on the successful surgeries. Glad to hear that the outcome will be positive, although I suspect the work to get there will seem frustrating. I look forward to seeing more of your beautiful photography in the future. Heal fast and well.
Glad to hear your recovery is progressing well, Brenton. Take care and get on planning what you’ll do when you are fully recovered! Warmest regards from Canada.
I miss you, and wish you a speedy and full recovery.

Both arms? Hope you are healing well and doing your physical therapy. Take it slow, you’ll get it all back. I had this surgery on my right arm a few years ago. My Dad stayed with me for a week, so I know what you mean about having your parents take care of you as a grown man. That was a long week!
