As I’ve mentioned in the past, Bronte Beach is the beach where I did all my years of lifesaving patrols. It’s a fantastic beach with a mix of people of all ages, shapes, sizes and nationalities. It’s also the second most dangerous beach in Sydney. When the surf is big, it’s BIG.

As you can see in this video, this week the surf is BIG. One fun thing that people do is to stand on the edge of the ocean pool and hang on to the rope railing as the huge waves crash over you and wash you into the pool. This video pretty much sums up those spectacular days when the surf is pumping and the brave souls are out trying to ride it.
