Now that’s a music video

I’ve not heard of these guys before. Given they don’t sing in English I’m probably not their target market but I do like their music videos.

Apparently there are a few things besides a singing voice to be recruited for this group. A love of tattoos, a rigorous gym schedule, a rigorous hair removal schedule and a love for getting your gear off in front of a camera. Personally it’s working for me.

Advertising for a husband

A facebook friend and I were chatting about men the other day and how to meet the good ones. It’s been joked about before that I should use this blog to meet someone but to me it doesn’t feel right, advertising for a husband on my own blog. I jokingly said to my friend that he should write my own personals ad for me. This is what he came up with.

handsome nudist acrobat photographer dude
looking for love in all the wrong places has decided to try something different
30 something professional artistic type
doesn’t go to the disco
doesn’t smoke or do drugs
drinks occasionally with good company
prefers to keep fit and create art and obsess about things unecessarily
loves kids and family and is a good and genuine true friend
Kylie is his religion
seeks handsome strong fit gentleman with a sense of humour and a good laugh to help him learn to not take him self so seriously, lighten up a bit and to love him back
all entries please attatch a photo as he’s not judgemental but he is a fickle homosexual who appreciates beauty”

I have to say, he’s not far wrong. I definitely love my family, Kylie and all things beautiful, but yes, I am also a fickle homo that needs to lighten up.

Epic bike ride

So you get to your last ever day of high school. It means no more bells telling you when you can eat, stand, talk etc. You have freedom now to pursue the real you. What do you do on the last day to celebrate? You organise a few friends, in different cars, with various filming devises. Then you ride to school for 4 miles, as you have done every day, except today you do it nude!

Not many high school students are this gutsy. This guy is brave. The weather is rainy and dangerous, not sure how cold it was, and then of course the other thing he’s done, is post it on the internet!

What’s your 100 things?

Sebastian is a driven man. He, at the age of 24, was experiencing some ups and downs, travelling, money troubles and fun, when a close friend died unexpectedly at the same age. He realised he hadn’t achieved a lot of things he wanted to achieve so he has now set up a website and for the last 16 months has been aiming to tick them all off. This morning on Sydney radio he was turned down by Scary Spice, Mel B, for a kiss because it had to be a proper kiss and she’s married, so kissing a celebrity is still on the list, un-ticked.

He has however, skydived naked, set a Guiness world record, married a stranger in Vegas, streaked a sport event, delivered a baby and been to burning man. He’s got lots left on his list but he’s doing it all to raise money for Camp Quality. Nice work Sebastian! Go to his site and show him some love!

Steps to alleviating boredom

Bored at home? Been to the gym 5 times today? Nothing on TV? Here is a step by step guide to alleviating your boredom and entertaining others.

1. Grab your video camera
2. Crank up your favourite Bon Jovi track
3. Grab your guitar
4. Take off all your clothes
5. Get your mate to video you miming and mime-guitaring to forementioned Bon Jovi track in your birthday suit.

This guy has a freaking killer body, cute face and apparently likes Bon Jovi and being nude on youtube. We like that he’s fine with getting his gear off in front of his mate who is videoing it too. My only complaint is that he didn’t do the rock god maneuver and lift the guitar up to play it with his teeth, giving us a look at all the goods, but hey, it brought a smile to my face.

So so so adorable

He’s cute, he’s in love and he’s learnt a bit of sign language to create this message for his deaf boyfriend. SO sweet. The end.

Striking my Chord

I’ve just watched the “Duets” episode of Glee (we are a few weeks behind) and totally developed a crush on Chord Overstreet who plays the new kid, Sam. Buff body, gorgeous smile, FULL kissable lips and a killer singing voice. It’s like the eye candy gave me diabetes and in my diabetic coma I’m dreaming of him.

There had been whispers that his character was going to be Kurt’s love interest in the show after it was confirmed that the Glee clubs cliched homosexual Kurt was going to have a boyfriend this season but Sam has already put the moves on Quinn. Oh well.

Get your music here.

Masterbeat is a site that’s just been brought to my attention. It’s a site for downloading cool remixes and dance music, something that we gays seem to have a connection with. God knows I can dance around the house to diva mixes for hours. Go check it out. I’m chatting to them about the possibility of running a competition to giveaway download credits to readers! I’ll keep you posted.

Aussielicious Interview – Scott Herman

You are one of the most motivated and energetic people I’ve ever come across. What drives you and have you always had this boundless energy?
I have always had a drive to be successful and help people. What drives me is knowing that I can always “better” myself. Even at the gym I can ALWAYS ascend to a new level. The idea of ALWAYS being able to accomplish/learn more on a daily basis is what really excites me to WANT to work hard.

You got your big break on MTV’s Real World. What is the motivation to go on a show and be followed constantly for 24 hours a day?
There were a couple reasons. I had just started my company Scott Herman Fitness, LLC and wanted to get more exposure for my site and jumpstart my modeling career. Also, at the time I was dating a girl who I really liked thought that if I could show the world the kind of person I was, her family, who I had never met, would accept me as she came from a very wealthy “ old school” Italian family.

You’ve said you wanted people to assume you are meat head homophobe and then prove them wrong. Why?
Because I feel that when you display the “ visual” characteristics of a sterotype to the point where people have already labeled you it; when you prove them 100% wrong it makes a MUCH bigger impact.

You became very good friends with Katelynn, a transexual woman, on the show and you are fighting hard for equality for the LGBTQ community. What motivates you to fight for a cause that ultimately doesn’t affect you?
Because personally, I could only hear so many stories of young kids being bullied and killed before I felt like I needed to make a difference. I think that too many people over the course of time have “ looked the other way” and now the playing field is FILLED with horrible disgusting people who need justice brought down on them. I hope that my actions will help encourage others to stand up for what is right, especially when they see this hatred first hand on their own city or town.

Have you always been so open minded and do you think that’s a generational thing or the way you were brought up?
I grew up idolizing my Dad and my superheroes. Being a protector of the weak was “what I wanted to be when I grew up”.

With all your support for the gay community do people make the assumption that you must really be gay yourself and how do you respond to that?
People say I am gay all the time, “ like to take it hard” , and the list goes on. At the end of the day, I have my friends, my family, and for the first time in a long time a girlfriend. As long as those people support me in my life’ s journey, I can easily ignore the haters and continue to help others in need.
On a sidenote, being CALLED gay doesn’ t bother me, just like if an LGBT member was called “ straight” they wouldn’ t care. It’ s not an insult, BUT should be a question that people don’ t ask right off the bat. I feel like people should be getting to know each other more as human beings before they get right to sexual orientation.

Winner of Best Abs, your own fitness industry, boundless energy and positive outlook, how do you inspire others to achieve their goals?
I would like to think that I inspire others by just everyday encouragement. My facebook community page (www.facebook.com/ScottHermanFitness) is the most positive place online where ANYONE can go for help and support to reach their fitness goals.
I also believe in leading by example and just like how the superheros in my comics inspired me to be big and strong, and want to help others; I know that if I continue down my path I can have that same impact on my community members with my actions and honestly my photos/videos because as people see visually that I am ALWAYS in good shape, it subconsciously convinced them that they can be fit all year round as well for the rest of their life.

What would you say to someone like me who as they get older realizes how lucky they were to have a fast metabolism and took it all for granted and is now faced with that disappearing?
I would say it is never too late to get BACK into the gym and my EXACT words would most likely be. “ Stop making excuses and get your ass to the gym!!!!!!!!”

As a super motivated guy to a guy who is not particularly good at self motivation (ie horrendous at it) do you have any tips for getting people revved up?
You need to set goals. It gets tuff sometimes to WANT to wake up every day and just start cranking out work. I basically wake up, roll over, and get to it. But after about 15minutes on my community page of seeing people interacting with each other and being positive/helpful, that is what motivates me to want push SHF to the next level.

How are you enjoying the modeling work you are doing?
I love the modeling that I am doing now but am at the point where I want to take that to the next level with a huge campaign. I have always wanted to model Calvin Klein and have a huge billboard in Times Square. I know I will one day, however unfortunately it’ s hard being patient when you expect everything to happen yesterday!

Do you have any favorite photographers that you aspire to work with?
To be honest, I aspire to work with any photographer who has NEW ideas.. not just.. “ Ok.. take off your clothes, put on this pair of underwear, and flex your abs.”

What is your dream life for you?
My dream life is having SHF a GLOBAL Multimillion dollar company that I run with my friends from the comfort of my own home where I spend time with my wife and kids and occasionally drive my 84 Camaro that I have had since highschool which sits totally restored in my garage when I am busy helping others reach their fitness goals.

Is there anything else you want to share with the readers of Aussielicious?
Well I would first like to thank all of you for your support over the last year. If it wasn’ t for the loyal community members I wouldn’ t be here and I want YOU GUYS to know that I don’ t take that for granted. I will always do my best to stay humble and to remember my roots because I believe that as SHF becomes more successful I will have lots more opportunities to give back to the community and if I get in the habit of doing it now, I always will.
If you have fitness goals, the SHF Community is here to support you. Just bringyour positive attitude and we will do the rest! Be sure to tell your friends too!

Born again hippy?

I’m the first one to admit that my thoroughly conservative upbringing has left me a little uptight at times. Yes, despite the circus classes, the pole dancing classes, the nudism etc. I still think I’m frightfully conservative and possibly even dull at times.

Meditation is something I’ve never tried before, and given my mind’s tendency to race all over the place, I didn’t think I’d be any good at it. A while back I joined the facebook group Meditation Gay Sydney, just because I saw it but never thought any more of it. Despite a message from the group popping up every week from the group about the week’s meditations, I still never went along.

I’m reading “Eat Pray Love” at the moment and there is quite a lot of talk about meditation in the book and tonight I finally went along to the beginners meditation. I have to say it was fantastic. Sure my mind wandered from time to time but ultimately I think I had a successful first crack at it. Towards the end, my body felt like it was slumping over to the right, while simultaneously twisting to the left and my head twisting to the right. When I opened my eyes I was still all straight forward and not slumped dangerously towards the floor at all. I’ll be going back.

Got any suggestions Mum?

This morning I was reading in a magazine sitting in a cafe before work, that people in arranged marriages are often happier long term than people who find their own partner. Nearly half of all first marriages fail, two thirds of second marriages fail and three quarters of all third marriages fail.

That is of course talking about heterosexual marriages, discounting defacto relationships and definitely the merry go round of gay relationships. Those in arranged marriages often report falling in deep love around the 3-5 year mark, often when more conventional marriages are hitting the rocks.

The idea of a relationship arranged by my mother, on one hand is very disconcerting, on the other hand it takes the pressure off. Firstly, no effort on my part, secondly you go into it with a guarantee that your family will like the person. Mum surely can’t be disapproving of someone she chose for me now could she?

Next time I’m visiting my parents, I’ll throw the suggestion out there. Wonder how she’ll react.

Now that’d be nice about now

Fellow nudie and blogger Kirill has been busy settling in to his new New York life but over the northern summer he managed a visit to Japan and found this beautiful onsen to have a beautiful nude soak in after a long walk. Personally I love sitting in some nice warm water while it rains.

Now that’s a nice surprise

The Jersey Shore isn’t shown on Australian television, yet, but given all the press about their Gym-Tan-Laundry and party lifestyles and their portrayal as vain dumb caricatures, this video from Vinny denouncing gay bullying is both a surprise and somewhat articulate. Very pleasantly surprised.

Big is better!

Nudist sites

A couple of people asked which nudist sites I’m on. One I drop by most days is Hangoutnude.com which has a much higher percentage than average of gay men on it. To the point that I’m surprised when I see a female profile on there. There are straight guys too and it’s not supposed to be a cruising site.

Another one I’ve joined up to recently but haven’t really used much is kinkykooky which is offiliated with nudistfriends I think.
