We all know what coming out can be a very emotional and stressful thing to do as an adult. Doing it with hormones raging through your body as a teenager, or possibly feeling like that body isn’t the right one, would be immensely difficult.

Camp Out is a fantastic event specifically for Gay, Bi, Trans, Queer, Intersex and Gender Diverse teens from 13-17. It’s happening from September 26 to October 1 and you can get all the information you need and register on their site here.

Conservative people with the thinking of my parents for example might suggest that all this information about gay “lifestyles” only promotes being gay. That is definitely not the case. Events and organisations like Camp Out are fantastic at helping kids sort themselves out, whoever that is and if they help lower the suicide rates amongst LGBTIQ youth, and adults for that matter, then it can only be a good thing.
