It’s a favourite

With the whole world knowing I’m a bit of a Kylie nut I have often been asked what my favourite Kylie song is and that’s just too hard. It’s like asking a mother to pick a favourite child, well not quite but you get the idea. One of the front runners for my favourite Kylie VIDEO is definitely Confide In Me.

It’s very simple but very cool. The song is quite dark but the video is candy coloured pop but still captures the mood of the song really well. Love it.

I’m a notorious self-confessed music snob – I’m proud of being openly gay with over 1,900 CDs and not one of them is by Kylie or many other gay icons. But I will say, Brenton that Confide In Me is my favourite song of hers.

(Though being a Manic Street Preachers fan, I am fond of Some Kind Of Bliss and sorely wish she had been able to commit her vocals to their ‘Little Baby Nothing’, a song they intended to duet with her but due to her schedule, duties fell to porn star Traci Lords).

Confide In Me is without doubt my favourite Kylie track – probably my favourite track from anyone. It came at a time when I was clubbing a lot and one of the clubs I used to go to (most Saturdays) would always play Confide In Me as the last track of the evening. It was a special time for me – for lots of reasons – and this Kylie track brings back all the memories.

But more than that, Confide In Me is a great track with some superb mixes too! I believe it was instrumental in re-inventing Kylie as a serious artist. The ad campaign in the UK was very cleverly done, using Kylie’s eyes only and the date the track was released – it created quite a buzz in London. Is it obvious – I just love it!
