The Hottest guy in Brazil?

This man, Mateus Verdelho, has been voted the hottest guy in Brazil in a recent poll. Yeah, he’s hot, but I’m not convinced. I like the cheeky smile and the sense of fun, but I’m having a bit of a rebellion against the ridiculous number of too-cool-for-school tattoos trend at the moment so Mateus loses my vote mainly on that count.

Aren’t Brazilians supposed to be all dark, smouldering and broody? I get that every nation has variety amongst it’s population so I guess it depends on whether Brazilians are voting or their admirers?

Why am I against all the tattoos? Maybe it comes from my photography. A big collection of tattoos or even just one or two instantly marks a photo with a date and time. For me, a great photo has a timeless quality and it’s hard enough to achieve that anyway without adding a huge timestamp to the era of the photo even without clothing or other identifiers.

I’m with you all the way, Brenton. This guy WOULD BE cute, but the tattoos totally f*** up his look. I have never understood why someone with a beautiful face and hot body will deface it with tattoos. I can understand playing with something less permanent, but tattoos—especially of that quantity and size? It is just stupid!

    Brenton and Ojo,

Just to state what I think should be obvious: what may seem to you like the defacing of a beautiful body also seems to some other people like the adornment of a beautiful body. One man’s trash is another man’s treasure.

Wonderful blog, by the way–I’ve been lurking for years.

I’m with you, I’m all for some tats but it’s a little overkill like the gun one

Some tatts are hot; this guy’s look like bad graffiti. Interesting insight on tatts dating a picture, Brenton

Somehow the technicolor ones look really artificial, like the “tempoary ones” you would find as a prize at some kid’s party.
I worked with a young lady once who said, when considering a tatoo, make sure it is something that would be easy to hide with your wedding dress…she has a small discrete buterfly that was not seen at her wedding.
Now there is that lovely tatoo of yours, Brenton.

Well I like them. He has a beautiful body and it seems he likes showing off his ink. Some people think their body is a canvas, just waiting to be colored. I bet this guy gets more tattoos.

brazilians come in all shapes, sizes and colours. There is also a significant number of Brazilians whose ancestors (who migrated more than a century ago) are from Japan.

I was delighted to find that people in Brasil come in just about everything shade that a human anywhere in the world can be. Due to their widespread “interracial” history, nobody is “pure” any color. Their bodies are beautiful, and their only color can only be described as human. It’s a total joy to see!
