Ross meets Matthew

Ross Watson has just unveiled his beautiful portrait of Matthew Mitcham, as well as these photos of Matthew and Marco Da Silva. The portrait of Matthew is so rich and vibrant and in recognition of Matthew’s contribution to the gay community and sport, the painting has been reserved by the National Portrait Gallery.

I’m sorry but Marco De Silva does NOTHING for me. I like scruffy guys, I like guys with tattoos, but I just don’t find him attractive. Maybe because I see him as more of a glorified Kylie dancer. Or Maybe it’s because he has a macho look, but a very fem attitude. The type that looks like a big dominant alpha male, but when he opens his mouth a purse falls out with a little dog inside.

I don’t think that painting of Matthew is very flattering at all. He looks much more handsome & a nicer body than that, IMHO. Bags around the eyes, sunken chest, etc., etc. is just not what that spunk is like.

I agree with Colin. The painting doesn’t show the joy that surrounds Matthew when you know him.He looks sullen and uninterested in the portrait,The portrait does nothing for me or friends who know Matthew.
Also have to agree with Marc..Marco Da Silva looks like a thug..I wouldn’t want his portait on my wall.

Is that a portrait of a young Kevin Spacey?

I like Ross Watson’s work, but that is not his best.
