For future reference, photographic studios get very hot. Even with the air conditioning cranked up, the studio got really warm and I was dripping in sweat. While it was a thoroughly exhausting day I have loved it. It’s a little stressful at times but the four guys I shot were fantastic and very patient with my lighting experiments. Thankfully, I was shooting my mate Jonathan, the newly crowned Mr New South Wales in his body building championships last weekend, when my camera displayed a technical issue I wasn’t aware of. He kept me calm and we sorted out when and why the problem happened and didn’t need to encounter it again.
I shot four very different guys in the same studio with the same lights in different configurations but with some quite different results. Thanks very much to Brad, Jonathon, Tim and Phil. I’ve got roughly 580 shots to sort out and organise and clean up, so it may take a while, but one of my early favourites is the one above of Brad. Brad is a reader of this blog who kindly put his hand up for a shoot. Good timing.

Gee Brenton, I can imagine that the studio gets “hot” with all the various models you take pictures of! :-)
Awesome! What a satisfying and thrilling experience. I’m happy for ya mate. Good going on following those dreams.
I dig his hair. No, seriously, I dig his hair.

You seriously need more light. There are far too many shadows.
