On saturday I did a photoshoot for a friend who has a goal and really really wants to reach it. Who am I to rain on that parade? Coming up in a week and a half, I’ve booked a studio for a full day to hone my studio skills and photography skills in general which will be a long, challenging but fantastic day.

A couple of weeks ago I created a profile on modelmayhem as a photographer to try and make contacts to help build my portfolio and today I had an email that got me very excited. I’ll let you all know if anything comes of it, but it could prove to be very good exposure for me.

Aussiebum has just released a new range of undies called Executive. I’m guessing that’s because of the stripes and cute little buttons. Whatever the reason they called it that, I don’t mind, Andreas looks damned fine filling them out, as usual.

On Sunday afternoon I went along to a pool party held by a gay sydney nudist group. Unfortunately, it turned out to be what I had feared and not what I had hoped. I’m not going into detail because it was exactly what most guys in the group wanted it to be but not what I look for in social nudity.

I think I’ll be sticking to my small group of friends that hang out nude together. Maybe it was the context of a pool party in a private home, so when other events crop up I will consider them for sure but I doubt that I’ll attend many more.

For many many years, Kylie has been dogged by talk that she can’t sing. I think Kylie would be one of the first to admit she doesn’t have the best voice in the world but she’s worked damned hard to improve and every time I’ve seen her live, it’s gotten stronger and stronger. This video from backstage before her last U.S. show shows how comfortable she is singing live. Love it.

Years and years ago, before I realised, or more accurately, admitted my sexuality I looked in a bookshop in my home town of Wollongong and picked up Bruce Weber’s “Bear Pond”. At the time I didn’t know quite why I loved it so much, but despite the lusty urges towards the beautiful men in the book, the photography is absolutely stunning. Bruce is probably one of the foremost image makers of our time and his legacy will be here for generations to come.

Sadly Bear Pond is not in my collection of art books, but it will be one day. Maybe one day I’ll get to meet the man too. In great news, the movies that Bruce has made, that initially were never going to be released on DVD, are apparently now destined for my shelves in the form of DVD’s. Why Bruce has decided to release them I do not know, but I’m eternally grateful.

Dylan Rosser has just released his second book “Red”. Why Red? Well, there is a colour theme, but essentially it’s because the guys are all freaking Red HOT! There’s hot men getting their gear off for pages and pages of beautifully shot goodness.

I knew they wouldn’t let me down. The Scenicboys have put together a video of their time at Burning Man. The email I got from the boys a week or two ago basically talked about burning man for a few paragraphs but the ultimate message was that it wasn’t something that could be described in words. How FUN!

Our Olympic Diving golden boy, Matthew Mitcham has just modelled for Australian Painter and Photographer, Ross Watson and will be featured in paintings and photographic artworks to be released in the near future. Matt has kept a relatively low profile since his Olympic glory, focusing on training and life in general.

A new Ross Watson painting has also just set a new record for a Ross Watson original, selling for AU$38,000. Not a bad little earner I have to say. The painting isn’t my favourite of Ross’ work, but it provides an interesting contradiction between old and modern forms of communication.

A largely Muslim football team has been kicked out of a Paris football league because they made discriminatory remarks about and refused to play a gay team, citing “Our convictions are stronger than a game of football.”

My previous post about an accidental “outing” got me thinking about coming out and what happens if it’s taken out of your hands. I went from being totally in denial, not even acknowledging my sexuality to myself, to being out to my friends and family and having a first boyfriend under my belt in the space of a year. Is it better to be in or out? Who the hell knows? People need to do it when they are ready, at their own pace.

I was living with my sister at the time I came out and she wasn’t coping with knowing and not being able to talk to our mother, so we agreed that I would tell them. The night came and there wasn’t a good time. My sister said if I didn’t do it, she was going to. I replied that if she did that, then I no longer had a sister. It happened and in the subsequent years my sister has apologised for putting me in that position.

In the 90′s there was a movement to “out” public figures whether they wanted it or not, in the name of raising the profile of the gay movement. As much as I want equality in all forms for the LGBT communities around the globe, I don’t think it’s right to take the right to come out or not to come out at their own leasure, from the individual. I do have a problem with public figures who are publicly anti-gay but leading a double life.

Coming out is a very stressful and personal experience for each individual. For anyone deliberating coming out, take a deep breath, take your time and fingers crossed it will be ok.

Danyl Johnson is a contestant currently wowing judges and audiences alike in the UK on X-factor. On the most recent show, Danyl did a version of “I’m telling you” from Dreamgirls, changing the lyric to sing about “her” instead of “him”. Dannii Minogue commented that maybe from what she’d heard in the press that he didn’t need to change the gender reference. The audience booed her, the contestant was fine, Simon Cowell wasn’t impressed.

The story has emerged that Danyl is openly bisexual and Dannii and he had an ongoing joke and in-joke about it, but she stepped over the line in bringing that to the judging table. Dannii has since apologised in a statement to the press and also to Danyl. Above is the performance and comments in question. I have to say, he’s very talented, seems very likeable and damn if he isn’t hot to boot.

The latest edition of DNA has two beautiful boys, Aden and Jordan on the cover. They are a real life couple who are starting out in porn after being together for a few years. They are hot, and yeah, I’d watch them in porn for sure. There is something that has been bothering me about the article though. I don’t know if the magazine called them monogamous or they did, but they certainly claim to be “one person people”.

I totally understand from reading the article that they are completely committed to each other, but monogamous? No. They are not. They are working in porn, therefore sleeping with other people, and they say in the article that yes, they’ve had others join them for sex in their private lives from time to time as well.

How on earth could they call that monogamous? Monogamy by it’s very definition means to only be with one other perons, not at a time, or per day, but one other person, the one you are in the relationship with. I don’t care what they do. I have friends in various forms of open relationships and understand that sex and emotion aren’t necessarily connected, but be honest about what you call it. If you are having sex with other people, for gratification or work, you are NOT being monogamous.

Every year, Patrick Roddie seems to make a pilgrimage to Burning Man in the Nevada Desert. A pilgrimage that I want to make next year. He takes beautiful photos every year of the people, the sights and somehow captures the atmosphere. Take these hot guys for instance, do any of them look stressed or worried to you? No, I don’t think so.
