Karl Largerfeld is an icon in the fashion industry creating stunning women’s clothes for Chanel, but he’s also quite an avid photographer. His favourite subject, pretty young things. Those pretty young things (PYT’s) seem to also get to hang around with Karl quite a lot and enjoy his lifestyle for a while until the next PYT comes along. Karl’s current muse is Baptiste Giabiconi, a stunning dark haired creature who is less my type than his predecessor, the gorgeous Brad Kroenig.

Brad, to most gay blog readers, might be best known for being half of the duo modelling surfboards on the catwalk wearing nothing else but said board under their arm. Not many guys look good with long hair, but for my own personal tastes, Brad definitely does. He typifies that laid back, hot sunkissed surfer boy that I fall in lust with several times a day over summer. He has that languid, sensual physicality that suggests a tender but fun romp in bed, followed by coffee lounging nude around the house for hours. Maybe I’m projecting, but I understand why Karl keeps these guys around.

In my hunt for inspiration and trying to refine the kind of photography that I’d like to do, looking at lighting, styling, angles etc. my search lead me to Scott Hoover. He seemingly has access to lots of hot boys and has recently shot covers for DNA. His style is simple, sexy and very clean. Definitely someone to watch I think.

I stumbled across another photography blog the other day. Homotography is filled with lots of hot boys from fashion and art shoots from all over the world from different photographers. Last night was the nude housewarming party which turned out to be a very small and relaxed affair. There were only 6 of us in the end with people getting last minute tickets to Beyonce and others being too self conscious or having other commitments. I had invited over 25 people but it was fairly last minute with a bit over a week’s notice. Having said that, it was a really nice night with friends, just chilling out. I did wake up with a bit of a fuzzy head after several beers.

It seems my host server still hasn’t been able to fix the problem as yet, so still no photos for the time being. There won’t be any of the house warming anyway, none were taken, but I do like to post photos with my posts.

The publicity trail is a long and winding one, especially for Dieux Du Stade where we are teased for months and months, first with reports of who is shooting the calendar, then the cover is releasesd followed weeks later by behind the scenes shots, and finally, a teaser trailer for the behind the scenes DVD. This year’s is the 10th Anniversary edition and shot by photographer to the sexy stars Tony Duran. I for one have never owned a copy of the calendar, but have the last 6 “Making Of” DVD’s and can’t wait to see this one.

Oh my lordy… I’ve just been perusing the pages of the Chadwicks model agency website and stumbled across this divine creature. His name is God… AKA Adam McEvilly. He’s 6’1″ and I would marry him tomorrow. I don’t know what he’s like but he’s mighty pretty. Look at how incredible that body is. Thank goodness I had a healthy dinner tonight.

Ross Watson has just unveiled his newest work. In this piece, Marco Da Silva sits incongruously, yet suitably in front of Carravaggio’s “The Musicians”. If you are wondering why Marco looks familiar, it’s because he’s been all over the gay blogosphere after appearing in the last two of Kylie’s tours and hanging out with friend and porn star Francesco De Macho.

This looks like a lot of fun. I know on a shoot like this there is a lot of hard work, but edited down like this, it looks like just a barrel of laughs.

This weekend I headed down the south coast of NSW with my family to go to my cousin’s 21st birthday. Friday night, after we’d all settled in and my Dad was long asleep, my mother my sister and I sat up chatting about all sorts of things. I had no intention of bringing up my meltdown last week or the things I felt like I needed to hear from my mother but over the course of a couple of hours somehow, very naturally and organically, we ended up there.

Basically the disappointment and disapproval I had thought I felt from my mother was actually love and concern and worry that I was going to be ok. My mother is from a generation and environment that doesn’t understand homosexuality, like a lot of parents, and somewhere between me coming out nearly ten years ago and friday night, we’d developed a great divide between what we thought and what the other was feeling. To say it was a relief is a huge understatement.

Having my sister there also helped. She’s definitely somewhere between my mother and I in terms of her thinking. She’s more conservative than me but more liberal than my mother. She helped my mother understand a couple of things that she misunderstood.

Now that I’m on the road to a better place, I’m thinking it’s time for a bit more therapy to help myself along a bit more. Let’s see if I can’t shake these demons a bit more.

The idea of going on a cruise has never appealed to me and regular readers will know I don’t venture out on the scene very much. But after my emotional meltdown early in the week I’ve decided to really challenge myself to get over insecurities and do things that I might not normally do. SO, in February, I’m combining a cruise with the scene and going on the NaviGAYtion cruise. It leaves Adelaide, South Australia, on February 5th and returns on the Monday morning.
