Talking about holidays with friends and the kind of places we each like to travel it became clear that each of us have some very different ideas about holidays. Some people like adventure, some relaxation, some rugged, some adrenaline. I know for me, it varies depending on how much I’ve been working, how stressed I am or how long it’s been since I’ve been out of the city.
My recent Kakadu trip was dusty, dirty, sweaty and rugged (although we had showers and toilets every night) and exactly what I wanted at the time. Right now, I’d opt for a resort where I could sit and do bugger all for days in the sunshine. I had a holiday like that at Turtle Cove a few years ago and spent a lot of time naked on the beach. Bliss. So, in an effort to further get to know my readers… where do you holiday?

When I go on a holiday, it is all about what I can see and do. I don’t care much about where I stay or what I eat. I can live for days on orange juice and bread if I have to. LOL.
Come one, you can surely come up more variety in holidays than just those!
I don’t really get into adventure or adreneline….but dig relaxing, not having to get up at any particular time (but it generally ends up being early anyway)….I like staring at the sky and water and trees. And some good touristy things thrown in for good measure.
I’m headed to Vegas in exactly one week!!Great resturants, live shows, lots of lights. I’m excited already. I dig a more urban setting with lots of touristy things to do. I’m from the country, so camping stuff sucks to me, and the beach gets boring after about an hour. I need activities. I’m not exactly the sitting still type. Vegas will hopefully rock. I’ve never been before. Maybe a few go go boy lap dances are in order :)
I love road trips with mates, backpacking around exotic places (e.g Turkey), beach holidays, big cities, rugged wilderness….all of these in the one holiday….I don’t know how it fits into your categories either!
I’m the same as Ojo, it’s not about the accommodations, it’s about the place. I like trips where I can relax one day AND go climb a mountain the next. And then go to a museum or see something cultural.
