That parents are still willing to sacrifice their 'loved' child's life and mental health on the grounds of hate and/or blind-faith... it just makes me want to weep. My experience with my parents never got to this point, as I got out while I still could. I'll never forget those feelings of ostracism and of feeling so fundamentally wrong and disgusting though... I hope that Bryce and everyone else in his situation can find the strength to just believe in themselves and to know that they're not wrong and don't need to be fixed... Since leaving I have struggled with depression, self harm and have attempted suicide more than 5 times. I feel so deeply for Bryce. I no longer believe in God yet I still pray that he is able to survive this. Thank you Brenton for highlighting this on your blog.
