Graceful & Dangerous

I’ve long been a fan of Cirque Du Soleil and would love to see more of their shows (sadly missed the latest one to tour) but I own Allegria on DVD and love this performance. It’s so simply presented without too much fuss but with all the danger and spectacle that flying through the air 20 metres up without wires provides.

You should see “O” in Las Vegas…Saw it in 2006. It was gob smacking. Leaves you speechless. High diving into pool from roof of theater. Shortly after the pool was gone and the stage is there. Fantastic.

I toured with Alegria for 9 months… somehow I always found a reason to be in the Big Top for this number ;-)

This video is a fine adjunct to the live performance. I enjoy the expressions on their faces, the prepping and chalking their hands, the wondrous treasure trails on their beautiful bodies. (Interesting that there are no women in this act.)
I live two hours from Philly, Baltimore and Washington DC so I have frequent opportunities to see their road shows. I want desperately to see the perm shows.
In one show (perhaps Allegria; the one that opens with the lizards and strange creatures) there was a pair of aerialists who appeared to be identical twin men. They performed with bare chests and wore wings. OMFG were they ever gorgeous. (I wish my seats had been better.)
