Soothing and soaking

Heading into winter I’m dying to go and soak for hours at the ginseng baths here in Sydney, but apparently the men’s section still isn’t open. I hope it’s open soon, as it’s one of the most relaxing things to do on a cold winters day and I still get my fix of being nude.

Today has been very busy and a little stressful at work and I think the rest of the week is going to be the same so I’m about to hop under a long hot shower and de-stress. Being in water, whether it’s the shower or bath or even in a pool, is like hitting a button the helps me wind down. It’s one of the things I get from my mother. Training at the gym of a morning and going to work from there means I also don’t get to do my full skin care regime, not that it’s lengthy, but tonight i’ll pamper myself a bit.

I thought you were supposed to DRINK ginseng….not let it make its way into the nether regions of your body!

I’m with you re the Korean baths Brenton - I really miss them as well, it was a fantastic place to hang out on a cold Sunday afternoon before heading to the pub for a few beverages feeling soooooo relaxed. Nothing could beat that feeling of coming out of the steam bath and plunging straight into that cold bath with that waterfall/shower. Magic

As a note … the bathhouse has technically re-opened now. Some caution though - it’s not fully ready and the builders are working at night to finish it off. Probably another month or so before fully up to scratch. The hotel it’s in has had to re-close at the moment due to defects with the renovations that went on there!

When I went they didn’t tell me this until after I was inside (at full price entry!) which I was not happy about. Plus there was no-one there and no atmosphere. The baths and sauna’s open, but the steam room still under construction.

Overall, a bit shabby at the moment and looks like a construction site and not worth the entry price. Had a great massage however.
