I’m not Lilly Allen’s biggest fan, but after hearing this song and seeing this collaborative amateur video, she’s just gone up in my estimation.

And (said in a caring and sharing way) “Fuck You, Very Much” for posting this Brenton!
I love it. Pity it won’t get wider airplay.
Nice to have someone mainstream saying this for us [:D]
Cheers, Polomint
I love this song and am surprised they get away with playing it (though “censored”) on Nova up here. I never really got into Lilly Allen, but her recent stuff is actually quite good.
As I understand it this song was written to be aimed at the bush administration. So, slightly marginalized. Cute, catchy song–adorably simple. But not the gay anthem of 2008/9 by any stretch; the gay issue is mentioned just once. It’s kind of like when you despise something vehemently and it sort of feels good to bash it for a while. But, then after that, it just leaves a bad taste in your mouth to even talk about it. This is the bush years, happy to have them gone–in no hurry to bring them back–or relish how good it felt to hate them.
I just loved this song. My week is ending and I was feeling down… it is always good to know there are others willing to say “fuck you!” when the world seems to be against happy people as us! ;)
