Dustin Black has just won the best screenplay for “Milk”, proving that if you write about something you are passionate about, it is going to be great. While I haven’t seen it yet, from this report I understand that his speech was eloquent, and brought attention to the fight for marriage equality in the U.S.
I don’t know if it’s going to help but such a public statement, in a non-sensational way, surely can’t hurt. I know marriage isn’t for every gay man and woman, but I for one would like those that do want it, to have the option.
Update: here’s the speech!

If he hadn’t said a word, I could see right through him and into his heart and spirit. He was so humble and spoke right straight from his heart.
Nice blog-post! Inspired me for a post on my blog!

Brenton,
Iv known Lance for more than 15 years, even before he went to film school in LA. There is not anyone that deserves to receive an award more than Lance. He is truly one of the most genuine, loving, caring, soulful people you could ever know. His heart is solid gold and what he said last night is what he believes with his whole heart. He has struggled with life as much as we all have in coming to terms with our sexuality and the pain that goes along with that at times.
Way to go Lance!
