The difference between men and women

This morning on the radio I heard an interesting little tid bit. Firstly it brought to mind the absurd things that people get financial grants to actually study, especially considering all the more urgent issues at hand in the world. Secondly it highlighted the vast differences between men and women.

The study was all about when men and women are at their most happy. Women were most happy when they were having a meal with their friends or playing with their puppy yet men were at their most happy while on the internet. What the? Don’t we guys know how to socialise face to face anymore? My god, that fact scares me more than just a bit.

Thanks to brilliant Aussie photographer, James Houston for the photos

They should of had another category for gay men. The answer would be a tad different though: Gay men enjoy having a cocktail with their friends or playing with their “dog”.

Hey Brenton, clicking on the pic links to the wrong picture.

Firstly, this post brought to mind the absurd amount of time bloggers and comment-ers spend typing on a computer especially given the urgent needs in the world (creating peace, feeding the hungry, clothing the poor). Secondly, any addition to the world’s collective knowledge is a good thing.

Food with friends? Something I avoid at all costs! There should be a special category for moi!

Brenton, wake up. If it where not for study how do you think discoveries in science and health are made which benefit individuals and the world. As a nation I am happy that part of my tax goes to research institutes and also gladly donate to place like the Garvan institute to support people who ’study’. I do agree however that there are those that rort the system to study useless bits of garbage like cases in legal history. John

I think there should be details as into what type of men and women were surveyed. I know a lot of men who would disagree with the results of that study (myself included). But then again, about a decade ago we could have replaced the word “internet” with “television” and it would have made sense…
