He has written very pro-gay comments in his newspaper column in the past, and once berated fellow players for their homophobic attitudes. I wrote a response to that editorial, thanking him for his honesty and being mature enough to speak out on a topic that many heterosexual men would avoid for fear of being branded 'gay-friendly'.
