You don’t get it, Crik. One does not discuss with bigots, gay or hetero. Bigotry precisely means that: inability to reason… I do not want to question Brenton’s and Mike’s and Crib’s dislike, or even hatred, of Benedict XVI. What I object to is calling the young people of world youth day “fools”. The respect they demand from the Church and which they think Benedict deprives them of they refuse as well to extend to these young people. There is a blatant double standard here. Bigotry is wrong when Benedict is accused of it, but gays like the above named gays are not bigots when they display behaviour and language they disapprove of in others. No. Thank God not all gays are the bigots that those three are. Some are more rational. Some are more cognizant of their own tendencies to bigotry and do everything to extirpate it from their system.

FACT: Ratzinger collaborated with and fought for the the 3rd Reich until 1945, and he deserted only after it was clear that Germany would lose the war! THAT MAKES THE DUDE A NAZI.

FACT: Ratzinger was the Vatican’s pit bull when it came to closing ranks around pedophile priests in order to protect the church.

FACT: As pope, Ratzinger states that homosexuality “tends” to “intrinsic moral evil.”

FACT: The catholic church actively works against distribution of birth control and condoms in countries already plagued with famine, AIDS, and poverty.

FACT: The american catholic church is fighting, on a political level, legislation to protect kids from bullies (if gay kids are included), to same-sex civil marriages, to a woman’s right to control her own body.

OPINION: anyone dumb enough to follow this hypocritical evil religion and it’s former-nazi, pedophile-protecting, gay-hating pope … is a fool, at best.

So its ok to hate the Pope, but wrong to even consider those that follow him as foolish? I’m finding it hard to see the logic in that.

If you discourage condom use in AIDS ridden countries, then you are being foolish. Surely you wouldn’t disagree with that statement.

By the same token, if you want to be a member of an organization whose leader discourages condom use in AIDS ridden countries, then you are also being foolish.

That isn’t bigotry, its just common sense.

It is his bigotry that dismisses the tens of thousands young people gathered in Sydney as “fools” that I was referring to. That is bigotry in my book. And come to think of it. It is this attitude that should put him in the company of those he hates, for it blinds his capacity for rational discourse and judicious judgment. I would be afraid if Brenton were in a position of power. He could just as well exterminate all those “fools” because they happen to be in Sydney to celebrate world youth day.

But then perhaps Brenton, denying the onset of old age, just can’t stand the sight of tens of thousands young people who just happen to be Catholics. Bigotry of another type, but still bigotry.
