I have no problem with being naked in front of anyone. The spa to which I belong (part of a 5* hotel) has a beautiful wet area with jet baths, whirlpool, sauna and steam room etc… guys of all shapes and sizes would happily sit around nude together. A few months back, signs went up advising that appropriate swimwear or shorts were required! Some of the hotel guests seem to observe this new rule, but most of us local members have chosen to ignore it. What’s the point of having a private mens spa area, if you have to be clothed all the time??

Generally, I have no qualms about being seen naked. I work out near my office, which means a lot of guys from my workplace work out there. I find I am somewhat more reserved in walking around the locker room naked when there’s a chance I’ll run into my boss or someone who reports to me. That’s just the office politics, though.

I have zero problem being naked on the beach or skinny dipping at a friend’s pool. I have a buddy (we’re both gay), though, who has never been naked in front of his other gay friends nor has he ever seen any of them naked, he claims. I think that’s just peculiar.

Showering or seeing friends naked seems perfectly normal to me. It only becomes strained if you’re thinking of them as more than a friend……

My friends and I flash each other our junk all the time. Especially if we’ve been drinking, there will certainly be a dick flashed at some point. None of us care and we’d probably hang out naked if it were just us gays hanging out, but it usually isnt.

it’s great to have straight mates that feel comfortable being naked in front of you. some of my mates won’t even stand at the urinal next to me, even though they know i have no intention of looking, let alone get changed in front of me at the gym. I do have a straight mate that went to gym / squash together 10 years ago - and would have a sauna after session, He always felt ok to go totally nude in the sauna at the gym. I haven’t seen that much of him lately but we caught up a couple of weeks ago and went to a nude beach, spent the afternoon totally naked in the sun, was a great day! wish more of my straight mates would be so relaxed.

it’s easy to say how lovely being nude is, but that’s usually said by people that have stunning bodies and nothing out of place or not an ounce of imperfection, and it helps to have a decent size appendage too. Unfortunately, despite our often best efforts, we’re not all like that and while the urge to get nude might be there, the thought of being mocked or stared at like a freak show act tends to win out.

I read an article not too long ago about a poll done by the Univ of Minnesota where both men and women said “there’s too much nudity in the locker room.” I laughed. Really? Where the heck else is there going to be nudity, but in a locker room? They complained that their friends and “other people” should “cover up” while changing their clothes. This goes back to the time before where I mentioned the ridiculous machinations that guys go through in the locker room when I work out. And it’s the younger guys, not the older guys, so it’s a new generational prudishness. They draw more attention to themselves with the elaborate dances they do trying to keep anyone from seeing their bits. In fact, I watched one guy fall over in his strain to keep his towel from falling off before he’d pulled up his briefs.

As to doing it around friends, that used to be a little different until I did the musical (yes, I’m an actor by avocation) “The Full Monty” in which half the guys were my friends. Let me tell you, once you’ve been naked onstage not only beside your friends, but with many female friends in the cast watching, not to mention the friends in the audience, you lose many inhibitions! That was two years ago and I’m much more blase about things now!
