I’ve just walked in from seeing the Sex and the City movie with some friends and I have to say I loved it. I really liked the fact that all the images that were leaked before it came out that were then supposedly part of a dream sequence, were not. But still things weren’t quite as they seemed.
The movie did make me cry several times, pushing all my buttons about never meeting the right guy, the supposedly right guy cheating on me, all that stuff that goes through the mind of the hopelessly romantic but perpetually single guy. Having said that, the first time I cried was during the wedding gown fashion shoot. I would KILL to be doing high fashion photography like that. STUNNING! And Jennifer Hudson was fantastic!

There are dream sequences! Don’t ruin it the surprises!
BTW, Kim Cattrall is just as hot in person (and I know because I met her at the premiere in Toronto).
and here’s the intro to the movie for you… one more time… :)

I loved it too. There wasn’t a moment where I didn’t enjoy it. But a shame Marcus & Stanford didn’t stay together…
For the movie was all about Charlotte! she stole the show!
We went too and saw it as well. Didn’t see you in the cinema! We LOVED IT! I particularly loved the scene in Mexico when Charlotte accidentally drank some water & the rummbling tummy. “You know….we’re in Mexico”. Like you I am a hopeless romantic. I too cried several times. Especially during the wedding gown photo shoots. Sarah Jessica Parker was just so gorgeous. So was Jennifer Hudson. Kim Catrall - what can I say? The sushi scene had me screaming in laughter. People were looking at me laughing. I too have been down recently and that really picked me up and made me laugh loudly. Samantha is so out there. Miranda is a bit of a “party pooper” but she came round in the end - “came round in the end” with the husband. I guess that the moral of the film is that “friends are great” and can be better than other halfs in a way in life. They are so supportive when the chips are down. I wish they would do another movie.
yes it was great and i didn’t realise it was a long movie at all……i was teary but did not cry…..laughed alot…love the walk in robe….OMG….george
i’m sorry but it was basically a circle jerk for designers and their mignons. don’t get me wrong, i loved the tv show. i felt it hit it’s peak at the end of season 4. the movie was redundant, and in no way compared to the fresh feel of the seasons 2, 3 and 4.
and in my opinion jennifer hudson was really bad. no, like really bad. she serously had absolutely no screen presence at all. i was so shocked, having heard so many good things about her and her winning an oscar and all. so ordinary.
but the movie itself was not all bad. just average.
I loved the movie..and I cried too…but more of the emotions at the idea and memories of being rejected. But of course my FAVORITE was the neighbor showering…… YUM!!!!!
Loved the movie, hope they make one every four years!
Brenton, download the soundtrack. Unlike a lot of soundtracks it’s actually very good. Especially the song Jennifer Hudson sings at the end of the movie and a cover of the Bee Gees song ” How deep is your Love “. Let me know what you think.

It was wonderful. I have seen it twice now. Such a good movie!! It really was great for true fans and new ones.
I thought it was horrible with heavy product placement and lack of story. If they would’ve shaved 45 minutes from it, I could have tolerated it.
what is the deal with product placements???? did you expect the whole movie be littered with products that are white and had no labeling on it? get over it…..tell me when is the last time someone went to NY and they did not see a single label or product…..george
I took my mom, I’ve seen the show and liked it but my mom loves it…and she laughed and cried!! It was good though, I need to see more episodes. ;) peace
