Just watched it myself a couple days ago...loved it, admired it, and was touched by it. The 'you're my daddy....you're my daddy....you're my daddy' scene was wonderful! So much of this film has bits of my own life...a cousin (who is 35 and gorgeous now) used to call me 'daddy' when he was about 3 or 4, because he saw me more than his father!
And, I have also pretty much given up my own life to take care of My sister and her daughter. Sadly, there will be no Brad Rowe to surf into the sunset with me.

So, no more whining about Your life, okay!?

I skimmed thru Shelter, now have to go back and watch the rest, lol. One of the less tacky gay movies out there.

So funny, been watching it last night, really liked the gentle approach the whole movie had. Nice not too sweet, kind of real, and although the story was quickly pretty clear I watched the whole movie intrigued..... so well done to the director!
And for me...... I'll just dream on, dream away, (especially with the last scene)

Was recently at the Brisbane Queer Film Festival -- didn't get to see Shelter, but there was a very good movie called "The Bubble" which is worth a watch. It's about an Israeli and a Palestinian guy and some issues the two face living in that area. The ending was rushed, and a little too predictable (suitably tragic), but the acting and rest of the story was quite good.
