Something I’ve noticed going to nude beaches in a largely gay friendly city like Sydney is that the gay population is probably over-represented in numbers on nude beaches. Are gay men more comfortable nude than straight guys? Is it because we’ve already broken a huge taboo in being gay in the first place, so getting your cock out is nothing by comparison?
Obviously there are countless straight guys and girls who enjoy social nudity but I’m curious as to whether the straight guys would hang out nude together so much if there weren’t women around to affirm their sexuality, even in a non-sexual environment.
To the straight guys that read this blog, and I know there are a handful, do you and your straight mates feel comfortable nude in front of each other? In what context?
Yes us straight guys do feel comfortable being nude with each other at the nude beach. Usually we are all swimmers or water polo players so we have at least seen one another nude in a locker room, or in at least in a speedo. And several of us surf nude - when the weather and water are warm enough. So I disagree with the suggestion that our nudity is acceptable solely because there are also females present on the nude beach, partly because as you know on nude beaches females are a minority. I also disagree with your note about about gay men being readily accepting of nudism. In California at one nude beach, there are more guys wearing speedos or trunks in the part of the nude beach where the gay men tend to gather. So my experience is just the opposite: gay men prefer to not be nude.
Not to suggest any stereotypes, but I don’t know if straight and water polo belong in the same sentence.
That image on the left of the 4 tattooed guys (too much) has me intrigued. As they seem to have erections. At first I would have not said that they are “Straight” due to the erections but then I have no idea who is taking the picture it could be a naked Pamela Anderson for all I know.

I do leave in The Netherlands and I don’t have the impression that only Gays feel comfortable being nude. we have naked area in many parks, beaches and mix saunas.
I have to agree that there are more males (fortunatelly heheheheh)

Maybe its just a few guys who decided to take a nude picture together (as a sort of right of passage or to impress chicks) and then decided they’d rather not have their members eternalized in flaccid form. If I had my picture taken naked in order to impress, I’d rather have some arousal effect going on, too…
I’m in the states, grew up in the midwest and played highschool and college football. Not being out back then, we “straight” guys did a lot of naked things with no girls around. My house, which was 5 guys, in college was known as the naked house. We’d all strut around naked, we’d play video games naked, and get drunk naked.
In high school my friends and I would go camping alot in the summer and there were plenty of naked nights and days together - swimming, hiking, hanging naked by the fire. There was some screwing around but mostly guys just hanging out. Ahh the good old days.
