Hi, that isn’t a NZ cop, the car is left hand drive, european, maybe eastern european, and on the side it looks like it says Polska, so maybe Polish???
The pic has a thematic connection to the story, but does not purport to illustrate it (Brenton’s last sentence attests). The writing on the car use Cyrillic script, which Polish does not use. The visible word may conceivably mean something like “city” or “municipal”.
I guess Australia has April fools as well then :)
