A favourite in danger

My favourite nude beach is under threat and I’m not happy about it. It’s never been an official nude beach but has been accepted as a nude beach long before I started going there nine or ten years ago. Rangers went around a couple of weeks ago warning everyone that fines will be issued soon if they are caught nude on the beach. I’m not sure why the sudden crack down but they threatened it a couple of summers ago but nothing eventuated. I hope this fades away too!

I hope you are not talking about La Perouse? I left Sydney 17 years ago and it was nude then (showing my age) and I had been going there for years prior to that. I have no idea what it is like now but you would have needed a telescope to see any nudity back then.

    Absurd!

Get together with other people who like going nude and raise a fuss!

Both La Perouse and Cobblers beaches are under serious threat of being lost. Signs are to be erected at La Perouse soon indicating that nude bathing will no longer be tolerated this was told to me by two rangers as i sat on the rocks looking at the beach i was clothed at the time “they told me that if i was thinking of going nude to think again as nude bathing was going to be stopped due to the many complaints about the unsavory behaviour that goes on.

This also applies to Cobblers on the North Shore as im sure that you have read the many complaints of the behaviours that go on at the beach. Mnay of the trouble makers have now started to go to Birdie onthe Central Coast and are becoming absolute pests. if we let these guys keep doing this there will be no nude beaches if you see guys doing things that they should not confront them and tell them to go else where.

Oh no! So much for your beaches being the stuff of jealousy if you do nothing. Organize and fight for nudity now! Something must be causing this crackdown; if it is sexual behavior then it has to stop.

I enjoy the same nude beach Brenton, but am honestly not surprised by this. This beach is a regular cruising ground, and sexual behavior is often visible both on the beach and more so on the rocks on the headland side. I’ve seen blowjobs, rimjobs, fucking and group action all occur out in the open for all to see and then complain about. I’ve even see two guys going for it in the water right in front of the beach in full view of the carpark and road, and in front of the people fishing off the rocks. It regularly features on squirt.org as a cruising area.
Add to this the condoms lazy guys leave behind and the dirty old men constantly prowling and jerking off.
I’m disappointed by the closure, but am not surprised at all. It’s a beautiful little beach, but too exposed to the broader public. As per usual, ruined for all by a few.

Yep, it’s the Christians again. A happy-clappy was voted onto Randwick Council a while back, and the crack-down is the result. Given the “behaviours” that michael mentioned normally go on in the bush, it is unlikely the reason for the council action. It is more likely a sad little person who considers his own naked body to be dirty. Who knows how these people breed……….?

Would you engage in civil disobedience in order to “save” the beach?

Just to clarify this: is nude bathing illegal because it is deemed to be obsene exposure under law, or is the status of beaches a grey area? If it is illegal, then you have no defence at present. It is not about “saving a beach”, it can ony be about changing the law.
Probably the local government is on a fundraising drive. If there is any chance this can be a reliable source of revenue, they will be treat it as such. The only option is proactive lobbying.

They were going to crack down on the beach here in Christchurch, every one knows it’s a nude beach and they don’t mind it like that, it’s the dune stalkers that are going to ruin it for all, just like your beach. We have been told if we want to be nude we have to put up our Naturalist yellow flag. Until recently I had never heard of it, I just like to be naked in the sun.

The simple solution is to patrol the beach and arrest people who are engaging in lewd conduct. People have such ridiculously prusdish hangup about nudity — they assume if anyone is naked there’s sex going on. And that’s just immoral. *rolleyes*

Sydney already has at least two official nude beaches that I know of - why not go to one of them? Beaches have been provided for nudists - and people have the right to go to the others without seeing your spotty dick and skanky arse if they don’t want to!
